The Ad Copy & Content Specialist will be responsible for creating and writing strong ad copy and media content for various marketing channels supporting Legacy Traditional Schools enrollment marketing plans. This role is part of the creative marketing team and will work with cross functional teams to develop and own copy and content to gain exposure among parents of preK-8 students.

This role will be responsible for developing content to be used across various platforms (eMail, lead nurture, SMS, etc…) in all active and prospective markets. This role is part of the VMS Marketing team and will also work with the Academics and school leadership teams to develop copy, content, and influence our PR strategy in partnership with the external agency. This position partners closely with the creative team to enable content, visuals and marketing outputs that enhance student recruitment, family engagement, and campaign performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Public Relations & Thought Leadership:

  • Support PR strategies that effectively steer public opinion on Legacy Traditional Schools.

  • Support advertorials and short form PR in publications, including top-tier, industry and regional outlets.

  • Writing and/or editing press releases and other media communications.

  • Coordinate interviews, media briefings, and speaking opportunities for leadership and subject matter experts.

  • Monitor media coverage, track KPIs, and prepare regular performance reports.

Content Creation & Management:

  • Write clear, engaging, and brand-aligned content across platforms – websites, blogs, social media, email campaigns, ads, newsletters, flyers and more.

  • Build and execute eMail templates, SMS templates and campaign suite for lead nurturing to enrollment capture.

  • Translate complex educational topics into accessible and inspiring stories for parents, students, educators, and policymakers.

  • Collaborate with campuses to create testimonials - from both teachers/administrators and families - to create success stories, ads, case studies and whitepapers.

  • Align content with SEO best practices and organizational tone of voice.

  • Edit and proofread content for clarity, grammar, and consistency.

  • Collaborate with digital marketing and creative teams to brainstorm and execute campaigns.

  • Leverage new tools and technologies to enhance speed, accuracy and creativity in content curation.

  • Ensure AI best practices across the business and customer spectrum.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Certifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field of study.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.

  • Display in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.

  • Strong storytelling and creative thinking skills with an eye for engaging content that will resonate with existing and target customers.

  • Metrics and Data driven.

BACKGROUND CHECKS:

  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.

  • Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Travel between campuses is required from time to time.

  • This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.

  • This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.

  • Local and instate travel required.
