Job Description
BeVera Solutions is seeking an experienced and adaptable Writer, Editor, and Engagement Support professional to provide direct support to the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (MRDC) Public Affairs Office in producing high quality, accurate, and timely communications in alignment with the MRDC mission and engagements across global combatant commands.
The successful candidate will develop, edit, and deliver a wide range of content including articles, press releases, social media posts, and event materials while ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with operational security (OPSEC) requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong editorial expertise, familiarity with the science and/or medical industry as well as the Department of Defense, and the ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts in a fast paced environment.
This position also provides speechwriting support to senior leaders for industry, academic, community, and military events, as well as assistance with public affairs, protocol, and engagement activities.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, or related field, and 5+ years of professional writing/editing experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Proven ability to research, write, and edit in Associated Press (AP) style for a variety of platforms, including newsletters, websites, speeches, and social media
- Work independently to create content, working closely with experts throughout the command. This level of autonomy requires an experienced writer who has familiarity of the science and/or medical industry, as well as DoD.
- Interview subject matter experts on complex issues, and write plain-language newsletter articles that are ready for publishing.
- Gather information from a variety of sources and draft press releases, video scripts, informational products, and social media posts among others.
- Edit a variety of written material, including internal and external command publications, to ensure they are completely free of errors.
- Write and edit for web style with an understanding of operational security requirements.
- Assist and support with events, VIP Visits, and other MRDC Command engagements as needed along with additional visit duties to include lunches/coffee, name tags, take away packets, etc.
- Assist with developing content for annual Social Media campaigns.
- Collaborate & support the Command Information, Public Affairs, Protocol & Engagements Manager as needed.

- Work Location: Position is located at 810 Schreider Street, Fort Detrick, MD. Must reside in Frederick, Maryland or surrounding area to meet duty location requirements.
- Work Schedule: Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work outside normal duty hours may be required to meet mission needs.
- On-Call and Holiday Coverage: Weekend and federal holiday on-call support may be required.
- Telework: Telework is at the discretion of the Government and requires prior approval by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). The standard expectation is on-site presence.
- Travel Requirements: Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS), including travel outside normal business hours, to fulfill mission objectives.
- Government-Furnished Equipment: All required equipment, software, telephone, and office space will be provided by the Government.
- Training: Must complete training on Government financial systems and program management systems as required for the position.
- Information Assurance Certification: Must possess and maintain the appropriate and current Information Assurance (IA) certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M prior to performing IA functions.
