Job Description

Scope of Position:

Assist Manager and Supervisor with all aspects of the Air or Ocean Export Department, while ensuring the proper and timely movement of freight, and providing exceptional customer service.

  • Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
  • Prepare various documents for international transportation.
  • Coordinate and negotiate rates with contracted vendors for space and services.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing to clients and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate data entry into our operating system.
  • Interact with customers to arrange international export shipments, meeting customer service standards.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.
  • Identify areas for process improvement.
  • Follow standard operating procedures as per DLSOP.
  • Work with the team to meet KPI standards.
  • Monitor shipment reports to ensure customer satisfaction.

Support the supervisor in:

  • Review workflow and operational reports.
  • Audit files and ensure process standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Evaluate vendors and implement improvements.

Financial responsibilities include:

  • Follow credit procedures.
  • Ensure accurate billing to clients and vendors.

Assist in sales and retention efforts by:

  • Responding to information requests.
  • Participating in market pricing and customer reviews.

Support team and system improvements, promote productivity tools, and embody the company's cultural attributes.

Qualifications include:

  • At least 1 year of industry experience or relevant qualifications.
  • Good market and product knowledge.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proactive and organized.
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word).
  • Hazardous Materials certification (preferred).
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or other languages is a plus.
