• Experience developing consumer electronics hardware products.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing the entirety of the system user interface (SysUI) for Extended Reality (XR) devices on the Android XR team, including core system navigation, user interface elements, platform integration, app dependencies, and road-map. This role is central to the Android XR system and will allow users to interface with the system and critical applications running on the next generation computing platform from Google.

Google's XR team is at the forefront of the next major leap – the convergence of AI and XR. This is more than just new devices – it's about reimagining how we interact with the world around us. We're building a future where lightweight XR devices pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance the product strategy and multi-year roadmap for Extended Reality (XR) system user interface on multiple devices.
• Collaborate with platform, input, and application teams to define a system user interface.
• Drive the user-driven quality and metrics definition and testing of XR system user interface.
• Drive an AI-forward system user interface that takes advantage of conversational, voice-based input.
• Develop a strategy that can adapt to multiple types of XR devices running Android XR.
