Role Description & Responsibilities

BIOVIA is looking for a motivated Content/Software Specialist to join our R&D team in San Diego, CA, in an onsite/hybrid role.

This role will be focused on making far-reaching contributions by providing programming and scripting expertise to the BIOVIA Content team.
These applications build a world-class "factory" for processing scientific content into a variety of formats for use in impactful applications in life sciences and material science.
- In particular, replace an in-house web-based chemical data application with BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot Functionality

The qualified candidate needs to have an excellent background in programming and any exposure to chemistry or chem software through education or in work experiences is highly desired
Familiarity with software architecture, design, optimization and maintenance
In addition to being a hands-on engineer, the successful applicant will develop collaborative working relationships with applications development, quality assurance, product marketing, technical communications, and technical services teams from across the company

Qualifications

*Master's Degree in Computer Science or a Chemistry discipline

*A minimum of 4 years of experience in a role focused on development and content creation

*Working knowledge of Java, Python and/or R

*Experience using BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot or other similar chemical information software

*Broad technical knowledge in object-oriented design and implementation, design patterns, and software development methodologies.

*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

*Strong analytical and organizational skills.

*Strong personal drive to learn leading-edge technologies and to excel.

*Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum development.
