BIOVIA is looking for a motivated Content/Software Specialist to join our R&D team in San Diego, CA, in an onsite/hybrid role.
- This role will be focused on making far-reaching contributions by providing programming and scripting expertise to the BIOVIA Content team.
- These applications build a world-class "factory" for processing scientific content into a variety of formats for use in impactful applications in life sciences and material science.
- In particular, replace an in-house web-based chemical data application with BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot Functionality
- The qualified candidate needs to have an excellent background in programming and any exposure to chemistry or chem software through education or in work experiences is highly desired
- Familiarity with software architecture, design, optimization and maintenance
- In addition to being a hands-on engineer, the successful applicant will develop collaborative working relationships with applications development, quality assurance, product marketing, technical communications, and technical services teams from across the company
Qualifications
*Master's Degree in Computer Science or a Chemistry discipline
*A minimum of 4 years of experience in a role focused on development and content creation
*Working knowledge of Java, Python and/or R
*Experience using BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot or other similar chemical information software
*Broad technical knowledge in object-oriented design and implementation, design patterns, and software development methodologies.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Strong analytical and organizational skills.
*Strong personal drive to learn leading-edge technologies and to excel.
*Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum development.
