Position Summary

The Proposal Writer contributes strategic and technical support for the sales process. Designs customer-centered proposals focusing on financial positioning, product offerings, and network access. Applies technical knowledge of products, programs, services, policies, systems, and pricing methodologies to support proposal strategy and deliverables.

What you will do

• Help establish and implement results-based programs and innovative initiatives for the Proposals area, under direct supervision.
• Complete simple business impact assessments based on forecasted changes within the Proposals field to support development of modification strategies.
• Gather information from source systems to complete proposals, and calculate fees within assigned variance authority levels.
• Arrange questionnaire responses based on case-specific quotation strategy and customer priorities.
• Assist with plan design review, prepare deviation documents, and compile proposals for ancillary coverage.
• Contribute material for sales presentations and marketing surveys.
• Execute techniques, processes, and responsibilities as directed.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with proposals, sales support, client support, marketing, education, communications, journalism, and/or project management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet Explorer.
• Ability to work Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry.
• Knowledge of collaboration, teamwork, execution, and delivery skills.
• Knowledge of business intelligence.
• Growth mindset skills (agility and developing oneself and others).
• Expertise in RFP process, Meritain procedures, project management, and problem-solving.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Education

High school diploma or GED.

Anticipated Weekly Hours

40 hours per week.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $21.10 - $49.08 per hour. The actual salary will depend on experience, education, location, and other factors. This position is eligible for bonuses, commissions, or incentives.
