Job Description
Summary :
The primary goal of a Designer is to contribute to SPR profitability through support of the dealers' furniture sales initiatives, including space planning, project management, and bid management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Location : Hybrid role based out of Atlanta, GA
Key responsibilities :
- Space Planning, project and bid management
- Working with the Regional Sales Managers – Furniture on key furniture sales opportunities
- Serving as the point of contact for design for key large customers and Lorell Diamond Dealer Showroom Program
- Collaborating with Regional Sales Managers – Furniture and customers on design specifications
- Working with furniture vendors to generate bid and project pricing
Inquire, research, and provide customer feedback on the status of furniture orders.
Answer customer furniture inquiries via phone; provide customer service.
Achieve assigned performance goals.
Meet project commitment dates.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to :
- Assist furniture merchandising to achieve department and company goals
- Design customer layouts using Giza / 20-20 Software, including product list
- Coordinate with furniture vendors on project registration and bid pricing
- Establish and maintain vendor and customer relationships
- Maintain a spreadsheet of all bids, projects, and special pricing requests, including status updates. Negotiate vendor invoice pricing using approved strategies and tactics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in design with a minimum of three years of experience in commercial furniture design, customer service, and project management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in commercial furniture design is preferred.
Language Ability :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
Math Ability :
Ability to work with probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate markup and gross profit margins.
Reasoning Ability :
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.
Computer Skills :
Expert-level proficiency in Giza / 20-20 design software, with CAD skills as a plus. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Internet, Email, order processing, inventory, manufacturing, and database software.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment :
The environment is moderate noise level.
Physical Demands :
Regularly required to sit, handle or feel with hands, reach, talk, hear, and taste or smell. Frequently required to walk. Occasionally lift up to 10, 25, or 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
