Library & Archives Solutions Pte Ltd (LAAS) incorporated in 2000, is a wholly-owned company of the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore. It is created to be the sole distributor of products and services of NLB. The Company plans to reach out to the library industry to exert leadership in library innovations, as well as provide assistance to libraries that wish to expand their services and grow their capabilities. It also aims to provide productivity tools to reduce the cost of operations for clients, and to enable libraries to embrace digital technology to better serve users.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Overseeing and ensure efficiency in operations of the Library
  • Managing and mentoring library staff, which will include the rostering of staff duties
  • Engagement with relevant stakeholders of the Library
  • Analysing, developing, and maintaining the library collection to ensure good usage
  • Ensuring that th Library is well-maintained, and in order
  • Handling and analysing patron feedback, compliments, and complaints to continuously improve the Library
  • Overseeing digitisation of rare materials
  • Staying abreast of latest developments in the library world
  • Producing reports and updates when necessary

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Candidate should possess a recognised degree, preferably with a qualification in Library & Information Sciences or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience managing libraries
  • Librarian to have a knowledge or appreciation of archival management and curation
  • Excellent communications skills
