Job Description
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
· Create and modify 2D drawings and 3D models for components, assemblies, and systems using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. This includes preparing general arrangement, manufacturing and installation drawings.
· Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and other design inputs to develop accurate drawings and documentation.
· Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
· Maintain drawing and design documentation according to company standards.
· Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes and improvements.
· Perform tolerance analyses, material selections, and basic calculations when needed.
· Assist in developing bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation.
· Ensure designs comply with applicable industry and safety standards.
· Participate in design reviews and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
- Internal Company communication with, project managers, engineering, purchasing and production
- External communication with clients and vendors
· Coordinating the development and approval of all projects specific design documents i.e. calculations, drawings, specifications, equipment and instrument lists.
· Coordinating all required design reviews, validations and developing test protocols.
· Coordinating the performance and approval of technical bid evaluations and approval of vendor data, as required
- Update project coordination software (TeamWorks)
- Update project progress checklist
- Inspect first articles and finished products in production
- Performing quality control checks on items ordered and fabricated.
- Work with sub-contractors to ensure design requirements are followed
- Prepare operations and maintenance manuals
Skills and Experience required:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in AutoCAD/Solid Works Drafting, General Layout of equipment, and Bill of Materials
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, CAD or related field
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles and an awareness of the environmental impact of design ideas
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- An appreciation for business demands and an understanding of manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
