Our San Francisco Studio is growing, and we are looking for highly motivated individuals excited to help us grow our Interiors practice area. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Interior Designer to join a highly collaborative and dynamic Interiors team with opportunities for growth. The ideal individual will have 3+ years of experience and a self-starter with strong design and technical skills. Professionals with experience in highly technical projects, Workplace and a strong interest in Interiors are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities

  • Generate and support throughout the design process, design plans, construction contract documents, elevations and details, reflected ceiling plans, millwork design, furniture layouts, ergonomic dimensions, finish plans, color plans, cost analysis, engineering systems coordination, document checking, schematic design and schedules.
  • Prepare programming and space planning to assess client and project needs
  • Have a passion for developing design presentation materials, including renderings
  • Prepare construction documents using Revit
  • Attend client/project meetings/interviews
  • Work alongside and understand the functional organization of the project team
  • Keep organized and check your work for accuracy, omissions, and legibility
  • Utilize your rock star technical skills in Revit and other design application software
  • Work hard, play hard, and learn a lot along the way!

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in interiors, architecture or, related discipline required
  • Graphic design, and 3D modeling and visualization software knowledge
  • Revit proficiency strongly preferred
  • Effective verbal and written storytelling skills
  • Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and follow instructions
  • 3-5 years of industry experience
  • LEED AP or within 6 months of hire
  • Interest in completing your NCIDQ or ARE exams
  • Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified
  • Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future Accreditation

PROFICIENCIES
  • BIM
  • Building codes and guidelines as applicable (ADA, FGI, etc)
  • Basic knowledge in programming, planning, and site analysis
  • Preliminary design studies
  • Contract documents
  • Field observations and measurements
  • Life safety requirements
  • Furniture and interior product specifications
  • Construction contract administration

SOFTWARE
  • Functional knowledge of 2D/3D production software
  • Intermediate Revit
  • Conceptual modeling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper
  • Microsoft Office / Adobe Suite
  • Visualization tools such as Enscape and VRay
  • Presentation tools such as InDesign and Photoshop
  • Environmental Analysis software such Ladybug and Climate Studio
