Job Title: Project Architect (The Johnson Studio)
Job Summary: The Project Architect is a licensed professional responsible for developing project design intent and producing complete, accurate, and well-coordinated documents. Under the direction of the Project Manager, they interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate complex and/or multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate has Food and Beverage experience to work as part of the design team from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise the project team.
- Manage client relationships and keep the project manager informed.
- Direct and coordinate consultants as needed.
- Adhere to company and client guidelines, meeting deadlines within budget.
- Plan and develop architectural projects.
- Meet with clients and contractors to interpret contract documents.
- Make design and documentation decisions using discretion and good judgment.
- Assist in proposal and marketing efforts.
- Maintain strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of project tasks.
- Assist in establishing project budgets and programs.
- Lead a team to produce complete project documentation that meets design intent and client expectations on time and within budget.
- Maintain knowledge of company projects and resources.
- Maintain licensure and professional affiliations.
- Collaborate with other studios as needed to meet project objectives.
- Contribute to the overall quality and success of projects, studios, and the firm.
Qualifications:
- Registered/Licensed Architect.
- Graduate of an accredited architectural program with a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- 8+ years of industry experience.
- Strong understanding of building systems and documentation.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality, complete drawings for complex projects.
- Proficiency in necessary software.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organization skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to lead a team of professionals and consultants.
- Competency in all aspects of design and documentation.
- Demonstrated conceptual design skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May directly supervise architects, including training, planning, assigning work, performance appraisals, rewards, discipline, and problem resolution.
Physical Demands:
- Primarily sitting; ability to move around the office.
- Minimal lifting; some standing, bending, and stooping.
