Administrative Assistant
The Macdonald-Kelce Library at The University of Tampa has an opening for an Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for performing technical and/or supervisory tasks within the library. Under general supervision, the position will exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment performing public service and/or technical processing activities. Responsibilities include maintaining shared network folders, ordering and maintaining office supplies, processing maintenance work orders, monitoring budget accounts, utilizing the HR system, maintaining records, generating signs and posters, reporting problems, maintaining library email accounts, managing inventory, assisting with coverage at the circulation desk, coordinating staff travel arrangements, attending university events, and contributing to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum three years of administrative support experience in an academic office environment, minimum three years of experience handling budgeted accounts, minimum three years of experience dealing with vendors and ordering, experience in Microsoft Office, excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion, excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills, ability to work with vendors, ability to handle maintenance of office machines, experience maintaining calendars and scheduling, knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office, and willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices. Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Summer: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
