About the Role
As a Gap Graphics Designer, you will work closely with your design and merchandising team to create optimistic and original art. Inspiring research, solid art creation, meticulous production work, building compelling presentations, and collaboration are the fundamental pillars of this role.
What You'll Do
- Create on-trend apparel graphics that support Gap’s seasonal messages and align with divisional design concepts.
- Understand and assist in identifying seasonal graphic trends through online and in-store research, and gather relevant inspiration outside of apparel that reflects overarching aesthetic trends. Assist in authoring tools to communicate these trends to the cross-functional team.
- Design into seasonal concepts considering merchant roadmaps, cost targets, and consumer insights.
- Manage workload and time independently, demonstrating self-direction.
- Take ownership of a specialized category within the division, driving creative concepts and presentations to graphics team leaders.
- Produce and maintain graphic presentation boards for milestone meetings in coordination with the Senior Designer and Director.
- Identify opportunities for innovation by utilizing graphic trend forecasts when creating graphic content and executing relevant graphic techniques.
- Prepare and maintain graphic artwork production files according to seasonal milestones and pipeline production considerations.
- Review production samples to ensure quality and accurate execution of production.
- Present design executions to cross-functional partners during product reviews.
Who You Are
- BA in Graphic Design preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 3-7 years of apparel graphics experience.
- Knowledge of graphics production methods (e.g., printing, apparel graphic techniques).
- Strong computer skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, Miro, Clo, etc.).
- Strong hand skills (illustration, painting, drawing).
- Excellent time management, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong sense of imagery and typography.
