Director, Beauty and Wellness PR Job at Real Staffing in New York

Our client, a leading New York City-based communications agency, is seeking a Director of Wellness and Beauty Public Relations to join their growing team. This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned communications professional with deep expertise in wellness, and consumer health.

The Director will lead client strategy, oversee media relations, manage account teams, and contribute to new business development. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment and brings a strong network of media contacts and a deep understanding of the health, wellness, and beauty landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and execution of PR campaigns for wellness and beauty clients.
• Serve as senior counsel to clients, managing communications strategy and crisis response.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier media across health, wellness, beauty, and lifestyle.
• Oversee development of press materials, thought leadership, and social media content.
• Manage and mentor account teams, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
• Collaborate with internal teams across creative, digital, and strategy to deliver integrated campaigns.
• Support new business development through proposal writing and pitch presentations.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging topics to inform strategy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of public relations experience, with a strong focus on wellness and beauty.
• Proven success in leading client accounts and managing teams.
• Strong media relations skills and a robust network of relevant journalists.
• Exceptional writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with beauty industry trends, product launches, and influencer engagement.
• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
