Includes a base salary of $119,600.00 - $199,400.00, which may vary based on location and candidate qualifications. Position may be eligible for additional incentives.

Job Description

Cox Automotive is seeking an experienced cybersecurity engineer to lead End User Data Protection initiatives. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and managing strategies to protect sensitive data accessed by end users across the enterprise. Deep expertise in IAM, DLP, secure authentication, and compliance is required. The role ensures data protection aligns with business needs while maintaining a user-friendly experience.

Key success factors include:

  • Ability to architect scalable data protection solutions.
  • Deep understanding of IAM technologies and secure access controls.
  • Experience with enterprise identity platforms like Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA.
  • Collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
  • Experience with adaptive authentication, conditional access, and passwordless tech.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of end-user data protection strategies.
  • Design secure authentication mechanisms using protocols like OAuth 2.0, SAML, etc.
  • Manage DLP, encryption, and secure collaboration tools.
  • Collaborate with IAM and application teams to integrate data protection.
  • Define and enforce data access policies.
  • Support audit, compliance, and risk management efforts.
  • Promote privacy technologies and passwordless solutions.
  • Stay updated on threats, technologies, and best practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with enterprise DLP, encryption, IAM platforms, and protocols.
  • Ability to communicate cybersecurity policies effectively.
  • Strong customer service, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative approach with stakeholders and cybersecurity teams.
  • Risk evaluation and recommendation skills.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of IAM concepts: SSO, MFA, RBAC, ABAC.
  • Proficiency in SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, Kerberos.
  • Experience with IAM platforms like Okta, Azure AD, Ping.
  • Experience with MFA and passwordless solutions (YubiKey, Windows Hello).
  • Knowledge of DLP, encryption, secure file sharing.
  • Familiarity with federation and conditional access policies.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity standards: ISO 27000, NIST, FFIEC.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Experience with SCIM, user provisioning, federated authentication.
  • Experience deploying identity controls in cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of zero trust and cloud security frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in automotive industry or with large consulting firms.
  • Relevant certifications like CISSP, CEH, CISM, CISA.
