Job Summary
The Technical Communication Specialist creates and maintains instructions for use, installation instructions, labels, and technical documents for all products offered by Ki Mobility. This position works closely with the Engineering and Product Management teams to analyze new and revised product designs, assemblies, and parts.

The Technical Communication Specialist creates and maintains instructions for use, installation instructions, labels, and technical documents for all products offered by Ki Mobility. This position works closely with the Engineering and Product Management teams to analyze new and revised product designs, assemblies, and parts.
Essential Functions Job Responsibilities
- Create and publish clear and concise documentation including Instructions for Use, installation instructions, product specifications, and technical documents using approved programs.
- Understand, analyze, and manipulate 3D part models and part drawings to extract accurate information for use in documentation and illustrations.
- Understand products to create high-quality and detailed illustrations for technical documents.
- Use desktop publishing software to produce and alter documents, drawing, and images in consistent formats that adhere to fundamental design principles.
- Understand Bill of Materials and fabrication/order documents to create consumer friendly charts and tables.
- Maintain warranties, company used symbols, and other safety, maintenance, and installations reference documents as needed.
- Prepare, format, and organize content for translation needs.
- Create labels for product and packaging and prepare specifications for print materials.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to gather information and ensure accuracy.
- Assist in developing content strategies for technical audiences.
- Balance multiple projects and meet deadlines while understanding and following all Ki Mobility processes.
- Ensure and follow safety, quality, and other company requirements and standards.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly.
- Perform all duties in a manner that follows, demonstrates, and promotes Company’s values.
- Report to work as scheduled, on time, and able to work entire work schedule.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Proficient in desktop publishing software such as Adobe FrameMaker and InDesign.
- Strong working knowledge in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite (notably Illustrator and Photoshop).
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks.
- Skill and ability in interpreting material specifications and dimensions from technical drawings and specification sheets.
- Strong understanding of tools and general assembly practices.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Organization and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to high quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to pivot and adapt to new challenges and priorities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to display a professional and team-oriented mindset.
- Understanding of marketing, corporate identity, and advertising principles.
- Basic math proficiency.
- Ability to observe and identify details.
- Ability to work extended hours as scheduled, including weekends.
- Frequent sitting, wrist manipulation, walking, and standing.
- Frequent bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
- Occasional medium work with lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to type and operate office equipment frequently.
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements to perform essential functions.
- Associate’s degree in English, Communication, Engineering, or a related field or 3+ years of comparable work experience in a related position.
- Experience in Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator and Photoshop), and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with SolidWorks, CAD, or other 3D programming software.
- Experience in Product Data Management (PDM), regulatory impacts, design reviews, and project management processes preferred.
- Standard working conditions include a temperature-controlled office and manufacturing environment.
