Senior UX Designer – Search & Recommendations

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)

Employment Type: W2 Contract (6 months, with possible extension/convert)

Pay Range: $50–$70/hour

Overview

Our client’s .com Search & Recommendations team is seeking a Senior Product Designer to bring strong design craft and mentorship to a growing, junior team. This role is highly hands-on, focusing on elevating the team’s design quality through visual polish, design system application, and peer mentorship.

This is not a strategy-heavy role—it’s ideal for someone who thrives in IC (individual contributor) design work while also guiding less experienced designers to uplevel their skills and output.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver polished, production-ready UI and UX designs for search and recommendations features.
• Partner with junior designers to review, critique, and refine their work.
• Mentor and coach teammates, helping improve design quality and confidence.
• Apply and evolve the existing design system, ensuring consistency across look and feel.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure feasible, high-quality execution.
• Act as a floating design resource within Search & Recommendations, jumping in where needed to help teams deliver.
• Balance individual design contributions with team mentorship responsibilities.

What We’re Looking For

• 5–8+ years of UX/UI/Product Design experience, with at least 2+ years at a Senior Designer level.
• Strong visual/UI design skills, with a portfolio demonstrating polished, high-quality work.
• Experience working with and contributing to design systems.
• Ability to give clear, actionable design feedback and mentor junior team members.
• Hands-on experience with modern design tools (Figma preferred).
• Solid UX foundation, including information architecture and interaction design.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $50.00 to $70.00/hr.
