ROLE

We need an experienced Graphic Artist at the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Research & Development (R&D) - Medical Research and Development Command (MRDC). DHA R&D-MRDC supports medical research for warfighter’s requirements, providing strategic communications, public affairs, marketing, and multimedia support to the PAO. This full-time role involves designing and publishing visual products for slideshows, logos, publications, exhibits, and VIP/trade-show needs, ensuring 508-conformant outputs. RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Design, edit, produce, and publish high-quality visual products and display materials across print and digital platforms.
  2. Deliver electronic and print outputs; ensure web deliverables and PDFs are 508-accessible with required alt tags.
  3. Propose new concepts with contractor and Government teammates to produce militarily relevant content.
  4. Produce print deliverables in-house or at the highest quality possible for the cost.
  5. Serve as on-site graphics POC to support reach-back; assist with gathering photos, maintaining the photo repository, and pre-client reviews.
  6. Update and maintain an image library across research areas for presentations and productions.
  7. Edit and format PowerPoint presentations for consistency and uniformity across decks.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Demonstrated experience supporting DoD customers.
  2. Familiarity with AI Tools – preferred.
  3. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud.

EDUCATION

  • Degree in communication-related fields – preferred.

LOCATION

  • Fort Detrick, Frederick, MD 21702.

CLEARANCE

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to pass DoD background check.

CLIENT

WORK HOURS

  • 40 hours per week.
  • 8 hours per day.

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION

  • W2 Employment Classification Eligibility.

RELOCATION

  • Not eligible for relocation benefits.

Other Considerations

Applicants will undergo a background investigation. The primary workstation is in an office environment with low to moderate noise. Extended sitting (up to 80%), frequent movement, occasional reaching overhead, bending, and lifting objects up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities include extensive use of computer monitor screens.
