What You'll Do
You will be matched with an opportunity to teach a Monday podcasting course in the afternoon to 11th and 12th graders at a school in Kingsbridge, Bronx. Your responsibilities include:
- Recording Basics: Show how to use a microphone, set up recording software, and understand basic audio settings.
- Hands-On Practice: Allow students to record episodes in small groups or individually, practicing scripts and using equipment.
- Basic Editing Skills: Teach how to use simple audio editing software (like Audacity or GarageBand) to cut, arrange, and enhance recordings.
- Adding Music and Effects: Introduce how to add background music or sound effects to make podcasts more engaging.
Publishing and Sharing:
- Show how to export final podcast episodes in the correct format.
- Discuss how podcasts can be shared with family, friends, or uploaded to platforms for a wider audience.
