Position Summary
The Publicity Lead is a client-facing role responsible for assisting in the planning and executing dynamic publicity coverage and campaigns for entertainment productions. This includes strategy development for multiple entertainment productions concurrently, building national and regional media lists, and securing media coverage for the production. The role will collaborate as necessary with the Public Relations Manager to support the production’s public relations initiatives. The position reports to the Public Relations Manager and may occasionally report to the CEO of the company.
Responsibilities
- Develop client proposals for publicity coverage and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Public Relations Manager to create effective proposals.
- Plan and execute publicity campaigns, involving all stakeholders to ensure success.
- Develop submission plans for publicity campaigns and social publicity tactics.
- Identify media influencers and build media lists.
- Write press materials, press releases, and pitches.
- Pitch and secure media results; present reports to clients.
- Build and maintain media relationships across various outlets.
- Develop marketing strategies aligned with the company’s mission and vision.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions and stay updated on industry trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience at an agency with direct client interaction.
- Strong media relationships, especially in entertainment and culture sectors.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of current trends, influencers, and digital media strategies.
- Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Existing relationships with traditional and non-traditional media outlets.
- Familiarity with Japanese Anime/Manga is preferred.
- Proficient in Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet.
