About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Music to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of the company's music and licensing strategy, driving growth and innovation in this space. This role is pivotal in leading a team of music professionals, setting and achieving music and licensing goals, and ensuring the company's presence and relationships in the music industry are strong and effective. The VP, Music will also be responsible for all aspects of music operations, including budget management, and will play a key role in the company's cross-functional growth initiatives.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Law degree, and at least 12 years of experience in music licensing negotiation, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. Deep knowledge of U.S. music licensing structures, digital licensing models, and experience with consumer data is essential. The role requires a candidate with strong business acumen, exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills, and a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams. Experience in the music streaming, DSP, or media/entertainment platform industry, as well as knowledge of emerging music technologies and data licensing practices, is highly valued. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a proactive problem solver, and will champion a collaborative, forward-thinking team culture.
