Founded 25 years ago, our company is a women- and Latina-owned residential property management firm, proudly led by an all-women corporate team. We manage both Class A conventional properties and affordable housing communities across California, Colorado, Nevada, and Arizona.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Community Manager to oversee a 65-unit, 55+ affordable housing community operating under the HUD Tax Credit program. This role requires strong organizational and compliance skills, the ability to handle sensitive resident situations with professionalism, and the drive to maintain high occupancy levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of a 65-unit, 55+ HUD Tax Credit property.
- Ensure full compliance with HUD and LIHTC (tax credit) requirements.
- Manage leasing activities, including:
- Conducting showings.
- Processing applications and income qualifications.
- Maintaining and nurturing waiting lists.
- Collaborate closely with corporate staff through frequent calls and emails.
- Handle resident relations professionally, maintaining composure in sensitive situations (including potential legal action or community disputes).
- Supervise one maintenance technician and oversee vendor management.
- Respond to resident inquiries and calls in a timely manner.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to balance resident needs and administrative responsibilities.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of property management experience (affordable housing experience required).
- HUD and LIHTC tax credit compliance experience required.
- Strong background in leasing, compliance, and vendor management.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Yardi property management software.
- Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required.
