The Role
Rifle Paper Co. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Associate Production Designer to join our Product Design team onsite in our Winter Park, FL studio. This role blends production expertise with design execution, supporting the transition of artwork from concept to production-ready files across all categories—including stationery, gifts, home décor, textiles, and licensed collections.
You’ll work closely with the Senior Designer and product design team to prepare final artwork, build layouts, review proofs, and support the execution of designs across a wide range of product categories. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with samples and materials, contribute to a variety of projects, and help ensure our design intent is carried through to final production. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, aesthetically sharp, and enjoys the challenge of making creative work production-ready. While we deeply value illustration and it’s a big part of our brand, this role is focused on production design—helping bring our products to life through thoughtful layouts, file prep, and hands-on production work.
Key Responsibilities
- File Preparation: Build and finalize production-ready files across a wide range of products and formats, including packaging.
- Proofing: Review press and digital proofs for alignment, color accuracy, and production quality.
- Layout & Dielines: Collaborate with product designers to edit layouts, refine dielines, and implement design feedback.
- Mockups & Samples: Support the creation of mockups, printouts, and sample comps for reviews and approvals.
- File Management: Maintain organized file structures and follow internal file setup and naming conventions.
- Licensed Products: Assist with licensed product development by executing technical files and design adaptations.
- Sample Review Support: Participate in sample reviews and help resolve production-related design challenges.
- Production Accuracy: Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all production handoffs.
- 2+ years of experience in production design, pre-press, or print design (lifestyle, home, packaging, or stationery experience is a plus)
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, color, and print production standards
- Familiarity with CMYK print processes, color proofing, dielines, mockups, packaging layouts, and physical sample assembly; experience with 3D modeling is a plus
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Clear communicator with a collaborative, positive attitude
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
If you're excited about this role and meet the qualifications, please submit your resume and portfolio for consideration.
