OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations across the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas (DMAs), with duopolies in 11 DMAs such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. Our stations distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, and produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, leveraging viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for FOX Network’s content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KTBC is hiring for an Editor/Producer position.

This role involves editing video for daily live television news broadcasts, recording and importing media from multiple sources, coordinating with directors and production crews to ensure seamless broadcasts over the air and streaming, and collaborating with newsroom team members to assemble stories. The position also requires working with broadcast engineers to maintain and troubleshoot video editing and storage systems. Responsibilities include producing digital and linear shows.

Qualifications: Non-linear editing experience is required. Experience with Grass Valley Edius editing software and Bitcentral video systems is strongly preferred. A general understanding of television news operations and videography techniques is necessary. Prior experience in small to medium markets as a news video editor or videographer is preferred. Knowledge of newsroom computer systems, libel, and defamation laws is important. Candidates must communicate well, be team players, reliable in meeting deadlines, and maintain professionalism under pressure. The role requires working a weekday overnight schedule. Applicants should provide a demo reel with their resume/cover letter. Producing and writing experience is a plus.

Pay rate: $22.87-$23.87 per hour, depending on education, skills, experience, and location. The role includes benefits such as medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits per plan documents. Union employees' benefits are governed by collective bargaining agreements.
