Position Summary
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring; assigning duties; setting clear expectations; providing recognition; communicating effectively to promote a belonging mindset; recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth. Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with stakeholders; supporting plans to meet customer and business needs; identifying goals; building accountability; measuring progress; addressing improvement opportunities; and demonstrating adaptability and continuous learning.
Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and listening to associates; touring stores and providing feedback; collaborating across levels on store operations, technology, business initiatives, and merchandising; leading change efforts; setting clear expectations; and communicating business objectives effectively.
Models exceptional customer service by following the OBW service model; supporting customer service initiatives; resolving customer issues; developing action plans for deficiencies; and leading process improvements for a high-quality customer experience.
Ensures compliance with company policies and supports mission, values, and ethics by implementing action plans; supporting the Open Door Policy; and guiding on business practices.
Drives financial performance by reviewing P&L statements; managing budgets; monitoring merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes; and developing strategies to mitigate shrink and meet sales and profit goals.
Respects individuals by embracing diversity, creating a supportive workplace, and fostering opportunities for all associates to thrive. Builds strong relationships; communicates positively; mentors others; recognizes contributions; and acts with integrity by upholding high standards of ethics and accountability.

Live Better U is Walmart’s education benefit program, covering tuition, books, and fees for programs from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees, including English Language Learning and certificates. Eligibility depends on job classification and employment duration.
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000, with potential bonuses and additional compensation based on location and external factors.
Minimum Qualifications
2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearm-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.
Preferred Qualifications
Optional qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership, and experience supervising five or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
