WBIR-TV Knoxville, the NBC TEGNA affiliate, seeks an experienced Multiskilled Journalist to uphold our tradition of superior reporting. We want a creative storyteller capable of producing compelling stories across multiple platforms, combining excellent photography and editing skills. A valid driver’s license and ability to operate a news gathering vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform live shots during developing stories or breaking news
  • Develop story ideas and source community contacts
  • Identify, write, and produce stories within given frameworks
  • Research facts and maintain credibility
  • Maintain and develop sources to enhance reporting
  • Shoot, write, produce, and edit content for on-air and online platforms within deadlines
  • Utilize creative production techniques, including graphics and new media forms
  • Use social media and digital tools for research and content distribution
  • Participate in editorial meetings and contribute story ideas
  • Write engaging and authentic content

Requirements

  • 1-3 years reporting experience preferred
  • Strong news judgment, communication, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills
  • Excellent writing and production skills; TEASE writing abilities
  • Experience with ENPS, EDIUS, and Axis graphics preferred
  • Organized, able to meet deadlines, and handle live breaking news calmly
  • Proven social and digital content creation skills
  • Knowledge of Knoxville is a plus
