Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Utah Mammoth is seeking a Junior Motion Designer with a passion for sports and motion graphics to join their creative team. You will create animations and motion graphics for various brand touchpoints, including in-arena presentations, broadcast, and social media, meeting NHL standards. Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize, design, and execute graphics for events throughout the season and off-season. This is a full-time, on-site role in Sandy, UT.

Note: SUBMISSIONS WITHOUT A MOTION REEL WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and produce motion graphics in 2D and 3D for various screens and purposes.
• Propose ideas and refine them based on feedback.
• Deliver projects aligned with creative direction.
• Maintain brand consistency while exploring creative opportunities.
• Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with designers, editors, photographers, and other creatives.
• Research new ideas and stay updated on current trends and technology.
• Identify gaps and opportunities for asset improvements.

Requirements

• Portfolio showcasing motion and design skills.
• Proficiency in After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
• Experience with Cinema4D, Unreal Engine, and/or Houdini is a plus.
• Knowledge of expressions in After Effects is preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of layout, hierarchy, typography, and design.
• Knowledge of the NHL is a plus but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree in design, animation, or related field is preferred.

Physical and Other Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, climb stairs, and lift 20 lbs.
