The Parts Photographer will serve as a key contributor by capturing, enhancing, and managing photographic content of parts for documentation and sales support. This individual will handle a range of photography-related tasks, including image editing, collaboration with sales and purchasing teams, and assisting with marketing and quality initiatives. The candidate should be detail-oriented, adaptable, and possess strong technical photography and communication skills. Proficiency in image editing software and basic computer operations is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • In charge of taking pictures of all replacement parts and brand new incoming parts, and upload into system.
  • Pictures are to be manipulated, enhanced, or scanned, to create desired effects using computers and specialized software.
  • Determine desired images and picture composition; select and adjust subjects, equipment, and lighting to achieve desired effects.
  • Enhance, retouch, and resize photographs and negatives using airbrushing and other techniques.
    Estimate or measure light levels, distances, and numbers of exposures needed using measuring devices and formulas.
  • Review sets of photographs to select the best work.
  • Take pictures of parts and provide the dimensions (if needed) of the part; upon the request of the sales staff team. When picture is requested by sales staff team, picture must be of best quality and impress over current task of picture taken in the system since the sales staff’s request comes directly from a customer to complete a sale.
  • Assist, as needed, to the Marketing Department in the elaboration of the Inside Track.
  • Gathering parts for inspection and picture taking.
  • In charge of taking and documenting any pictures of OEM parts in the system.
  • Assist the Purchasing Department in the process of the pictures and dimensions of the OEM parts.
  • Assist, as needed, in the elaboration and documentation of new procedures in the marketing department.
  • Assist, as needed, the Quality Department when parts are found to not be in their normal state and/or find discrepancies with the rest of the items in stock.
  • Adjust apertures, shutter speeds, and camera focus based on a combination of factors such as lighting, field depth, subject motion, film type, and film speed.
  • Create artificial light, using flashes and reflectors.
  • Select and assemble equipment and required background properties, according to subjects, materials, and conditions.
  • Perform maintenance tasks necessary to keep equipment working properly.
  • Use digital cameras, along with a variety of equipment such as tripods, filters, and flash attachments.
  • Ability to be able to react to changes productively and handle miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Print certificates/plaques, follow-up with customers’ birthdays, Christmas cards, holiday gifts.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of techniques, principles and equipment of modern photography including still, motion, color, and black and white photography
  • Knowledge of film properties and their suitability for generalized and specialized photography
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop and/or any other image editing software
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations and software
  • Skills in both verbal and written communication
