Location: Hybrid. Candidate must reside in Puerto Rico. Those within 40 km (25 miles) of the DXC office in Isabela are expected to work onsite at least two days per week. Preference will be given to candidates based on the northwest side of the island.

Essential Job Functions

• Collaborate with the software development team to design, code, and test software solutions, focusing on developing and maintaining critical components.
• Support in the application and development.
• Work with senior team members to meet project requirements and deadlines, actively participating in design and code reviews.
• Contribute to troubleshooting and problem-solving in software development, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
• Participate in the development and documentation of software requirements and specifications.
• Debug and resolve complex production issues, working closely with senior engineers and support teams.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices, researching and proposing innovative solutions.
• Assist in mentoring and guiding junior team members, sharing knowledge and expertise.
• Take ownership of challenging technical tasks and collaborate on architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering preferred
• Must be bilingual, with proficiency in both English and Spanish
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in the industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role and years of experience in software engineering
• Proficiency in any of the following: Perl, Windows, Oracle/SQL, HTML, CGI, Unix/Linux, CSH, Cron, Python, Java
• Experience in analyzing and documenting
• Application support and application developer
• Strong programming and debugging skills
• Familiarity with software development practices and methodologies
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good team collaboration and communication abilities

Work Environment

• Hybrid. Candidate must reside in Puerto Rico. Those within 40 km (25 miles) of the DXC office in Isabela are expected to work onsite at least two days per week. Preference will be given to candidates based on the northwest side of the island.
