The Esoterix Division of Labcorp is seeking an Associate Technical Director for their specialty testing laboratory located in Calabasas, CA. Esoterix is a highly specialized lab focusing on Endocrinology, GI, and Rheumatology with a history of over 50 years in specialty testing.

This position will provide technical oversight and work closely with the lab operations team to ensure assay performance optimization and regulatory compliance. This PhD-level position will also oversee the routine testing department and monitor the internal PT program for the entire lab.

**Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000**

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Work Schedule: 1st shift

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees scientific and technical direction of the laboratories, including direct responsibility for resolving technical issues.
  • Reviews overall performance of each laboratory, including reference ranges and report types submitted to clients.
  • Identifies, investigates, and explores new assays, equipment, and processes to enhance business performance, considering cost/benefit analyses.
  • Assists the Quality department in ensuring compliance with regulations and participates in Quality initiatives.
  • Establishes procedures for assay setup, validation, and documentation.
  • Adheres to SOPs and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Leads the team during CLIA, CAP, and routine inspections.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Life Sciences or Chemistry required.
  • Board Certification from the American Board of Clinical Chemistry or equivalent is strongly preferred but not required.
  • CLS certification required.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with lab management.
  • Strong deductive reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Extensive experience in clinical labs, including validation, QC, QM, proficiency testing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to respond promptly to stressful and urgent situations.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and commitment to accurate results.
