This Retail Merchandise Product Concept Designer will play a critical role in bringing to life Bluesky retail opportunities (physical products and in-store experiences) based on abstract concepts & ideas. The ideal candidate is a multi-talented designer and expert at creating clearly articulated creative outputs (graphics, retail product mockups, branding, sketches, reports, 3-D models, renderings, etc.) designed for functional, organization-wide usage. This role will partner closely with multiple teams and craft compelling creative concepts. In addition, this role will closely collaborate with the teams in ideation and creative development.
This role will report to the Senior Manager, Retail Innovation & Design.
This is a Full-Time role.
What You Will Do:
Clearly articulate abstract concepts through various mediums (sketching, illustration, 3-D modeling, storyboarding, product mockups, environment mockups, packaging mockups)
Generate compelling ideas with cross functional teams in ideation sessions
Collaborate on the creative execution of blue sky ideas as part of our innovation pipeline, to inspire a new generation of consumer-centered products and experiences
Continually iterate and ideate on new product form, function and concept
Communicate creative through storytelling and compelling design
Inspire through visionary storytelling abstract future-focused concept and ideas
Create and present engaging decks and templates
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Portfolio Required. Please ensure you include a portfolio along with your application.
3-5 years proven retail product design experience or retail concepting
Diverse design skillset with competencies across graphics, 3-D design, physical product design, environmental design, and themed entertainment design
Proven BlueSky creative concepting capabilities
Powerhouse ideation skills with a passion for expansive thinking
Curious, optimistic, problem solver with a passion for bringing to life innovative products and experiences
Proven knowledge of Disney IP
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Extensive knowledge of Disney Parks/DSE consumer and landscape
Experience presenting and collaborating with teams and leaders across The Walt Disney Company
Preferred systems knowledge: Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), 3-D Modeling Software, Rhino, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Keynote, PowerPoint
Environmental Design and Themed Entertainment Design
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in design
This is an on-site role in Kissimmee, FL.
