Enovate is recruiting for a mid-level web artisan to work on new and existing Laravel projects, based either in our office in Chelmsford, Essex or remotely anywhere in the UK.
Established in 2000, we can still remember a time when websites were built using images in HTML tables, yes that was “best practice” back then! Today, we’re still just as passionate about the web and its potential but our tech stack and best practices have changed a lot! We’re an agency that builds both websites and web applications, and we’re now over 7-years into our journey with Laravel. From a stock system used by the NHS, a Chrome Extension for Branston Pickle to visualising $22B in research grant funding for Oxford University our work is varied and challenging in equal measure.
We’re seeking a Mid-level Laravel/PHP Developer with 2+ years solid Laravel experience to contribute to our growing team of passionate programmers.
What the job involves
- Developing and maintaining web applications using the Laravel Framework
- Contributing to project planning, scoping, specifications and estimates
- Handling or delegating client support requests as appropriate
- Delivering on multiple, concurrent projects
You have
- Strong knowledge of the Laravel framework and ecosystem
- Experience writing DRY, well structured, clean and elegant code
- Experience with Laravel Livewire
- Excellent knowledge of MySQL database design and development
- Familiarity with Linux shell
- Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to testing
- Ability to thrive in a sometimes fast-paced agency environment with demanding clients
- Ability to work efficiently by prioritising what's important without cutting corners
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, confident speaking with clients and stakeholders
- Familiarity with Git
- Familiarity with Mac OS
- Enthusiasm to work in a small team and make a difference
Not essential but it would be good if you have experience with
- Vue.js
- Filament
- Tailwind CSS
- Alpine.js
- Craft CMS and Craft CMS plugin development
- Experience with unit/feature testing (Pest PHP)
