Unknown Worlds is seeking an experienced producer for a contract opportunity to work across several studio initiatives including Subnautica 2. Our ideal candidate is a collaborator, facilitator, and force-multiplier. They are self-organized, self-driven, and passionate about making games. Candidates should be experienced in partner management, project planning, risk mitigation, and empowering teams to do their best work.

This is a one-year contract, remote position on a fully remote team. Ideal candidates will work US Eastern or Western European hours.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work directly with asset pipeline teams, establishing priorities, dependencies, and managing risks.
  2. Build and maintain team schedules based on high-level project roadmaps and goals.
  3. Provide progress updates on goals and production schedules regularly.
  4. Manage relationships with external development partners, including art outsource engagements.
  5. Manage milestone planning processes and retrospectives for multiple teams.
  6. Oversee co-development processes with partners, including establishing and reviewing milestone deliverables.
  7. Collaborate with internal creative leadership to identify opportunities to develop the strongest versions of our titles tailored to each platform.

Qualifications:

  1. Deep understanding of project management methodologies and game development processes.
  2. 5+ years of experience in a production role with multiple shipped titles; experience working through all phases of game development.
  3. Experience with agile development methodologies and managing cross-discipline teams.
  4. Familiarity with common art pipelines and supporting/scheduling art teams.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage relationships internally and externally.
  6. Experience creating milestone schedules and defining high-level project requirements.
  7. Familiarity with asynchronous work environments and distributed teams across time zones.
  8. Experience managing outsource and co-development partnerships.

Preferences:

  1. Experience with multi-platform projects, especially console development.
  2. Experience with early access and open development models.
  3. Experience managing external partners and vendors.
