100% of the time at the Client's site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.
Required: • Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client's site in Juno Beach, FL (required); • Experience with fiber optic design and installation and network infrastructure (3+ years); • Experience with CAD software and network design tools; • Experience with IT infrastructure, static IP addressing, Ethernet switches, and basic firewall concepts; • Experience with telecommunications infrastructure; • Experience with outside plant construction standards and practices; • Experience with verifying hardware and configuration in IT communication server rack and SCADA rack with Control PLC hardware; • Experience with creating Bills of Materials (BOMs) for fiber, switches, and network equipment.
Responsibilities: • Support the Controls Engineering team by managing fiber optic and network infrastructure design; • Review substation plans and collection system drawings at 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC phases to identify fiber junction mismatches and missing equipment; • Design fiber optic cable routes (aerial, underground, buried) connecting substations to collection systems; • Design static Ethernet networks, switch configurations, and basic network implementations; • Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for fiber, switches, and network equipment; • Maintain records of fiber splicing, network topology, and equipment configurations; • Develop restoration procedures for fiber damage and network failures and perform routine inspections of control network infrastructure
