LAist is growing, and we're looking for a strategic, creative, and mission-motivated professional to help convert digital engagement into lasting community support. As Digital Fundraising & Audience Revenue Manager, you'll lead innovative efforts to turn our digital audiences into meaningful financial contributions that sustain our nonprofit newsroom. This is a new role that blends digital fundraising, marketing, and audience strategy. As part of the Membership team, you'll partner closely with the Product, Content, Engagement, and Marketing teams to launch and optimize campaigns that drive donor growth and deepen member engagement. Whether it's testing donation placements in breaking news, collaborating on social media fundraising posts, or analyzing conversion data to improve performance, your work will directly support the journalism Southern California relies on. We're looking for someone who thrives on experimentation, believes deeply in the power of public service journalism, and is ready to build upon the successes we've accomplished already. Expected Compensation Range: $77,000 - $82,000 /annualized. Exact salary determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity. Position Responsibilities: Plan and execute digital fundraising campaigns that acquire new donors, retain existing supporters, and re-engage lapsed supporters Develop and test new strategies for converting digital audiences into contributorsincluding site placements, donation asks in content, social media fundraising, and more Identify quick wins and long-term opportunities to grow digital revenue and conversion rates In partnership with the Director of Digital Fundraising, and in collaboration with the Social and Marketing teams, lead cross-platform fundraising efforts on social media Partner with Product and Marketing to move users through the digital engagement pipeline toward giving Use analytics and A/B testing to measure performance, report on KPIs, and iterate for growth Maintain a high-quality donor experience across digital touchpoints, with messaging that aligns with our brand and mission Translate digital fundraising strategies into documented plans Monitor industry trends and internal data to inform decision-making and uncover new opportunities for revenue growth Develop and optimize email fundraising strategies, including segmentation, A/B testing, and automation to drive donor acquisition and retention Write compelling, mission-aligned fundraising emails that engage digital audiences and convert them into financial supporters Other duties as assigned Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 3-5 years experience in digital revenue or e-commerce 3-5 years experience with and knowledge of email marketing tools Experience with social media marketing or fundraising Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Ability to establish work priorities and manage workload autonomously Maintains working knowledge of industry and technology trends and innovations. Incorporates new developments, as appropriate Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work on a deadline Demonstrated ability to understand customer data, business requirements, and the bigger picture regarding fundraising and management of membership information Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills Able to communicate and function effectively in a remote work environment Preferred Skills and Experience: Familiarity with Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud A solid understanding of digital news operations, on-demand audio, and broadcast radio Reporting to this Position: None Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
