  • Keystone Central School District has the need for Library Building Assistant Itinerant for the 25-26 school year.** Position is 7 hrs/day, school term. Starting rate of pay will be 14.50/hr. Excellent benefits (health, dental and vision) and PSERS retirement. Start and end times will depend on building needs.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Enters data in all existing applications: circulation of materials, new books, deletions, past due books and student files.
  • Assists in running monthly, quarterly and yearly reports as needed.
  • Handles circulation of hardware and software housed in the library.
  • Assists students and teachers with the use of all current library software; assists students and teachers in the use of MS Office products for projects and activities.
  • Conducts simple searches using library databases such as Power Library.
  • Helps teachers and students find books and materials using automated card catalog and ACCESS PA.
  • Shelves incoming books and maintains proper order of book shelves.
  • Reserves books for teachers and students.
  • Readies books for reserve on teachers' requests; maintains the reserve shelves.
  • Assists with book order, bibliographies, forms, library schedules and similar duties.
  • Assists librarian with ordering and receiving books; assists with book processing.
  • Prepares notices to teachers, students and parents concerning overdue books.
  • Prepares current magazines for shelving and maintains back number stacks.
  • Makes simple repairs on damaged books and magazines; prepares books for bindery.
  • Oversees the general neatness and attractiveness of the library; responsible for bulletin boards and other displays used to encourage reading.
  • Assists in annual inventory of library materials.
  • Monitors attendance in the library and maintains attendance records.
  • Maintains office and copier supplies for library; assists staff with use of copiers.
  • Participates in in-service trainings.
  • Performs duties in a professional, ethical manner consistent with requirements of the law and the school district's policies and procedures; maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned by librarian or principal.
