Software Resources has an immediate job opportunity for a Music Coordinator / Paralegal with a major corporation in Burbank, CA. This assignment is Onsite Mon-Thurs in Burbank, CA. and Remote on Fri.

Pay Rate: $35 – $40/hr DOE

The department is looking for candidates with strong paralegal skills related to music. Drafting and interpreting agreements, and being able to effectively and accurately communicate with various teams through all stages of development, production and marketing of programming are the essential skills we need.

MUST HAVES: Ability to work with many types of personalities – know that each will/can be different and might be challenging, Detailed minded – since this has a legal component they need to have legal experience with good reading comprehension skills – similar to a paralegal –they must be able to make good judgement – knowing what's urgent and what is not., Excellent Communication Skills, Team Player, be able to Ask Questions and understand/comprehend the answers, be Proactive and extremely Collaborative.

Description:
Entertainment Television (DET) is seeking a Paralegal to support our internal Music team. As a Music Paralegal at DET, you will assist the music needs of the Marketing team across affiliates and networks. The right person for this role is collaborative, detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. We are looking for a hardworking team player with a desire to learn, share, and grow.
● Provide administrative support and generally assist all members of the DET Music team.
● Maintain a tracking system for all music licenses from initial clearance through the distribution of fully executed licenses and payment of license fees.
● Ensure that all fully executed music licenses are properly filed in the DET filing database.
● Distribute fully executed music licenses.
● Coordinate and review music cue sheet processes across teams including quality control.
● Maintain library music usage tracker and other music databases.
● Send quarterly reports to our library partners.
● Distribute music expiration calendars across teams and notify internal stakeholders of any takedowns required.
● Draft music agreements using provided templates.
● Coordinate license information to legal and creative teams.
● Familiarize with music processes/protocols and help maintain them.
● Set up and admin music vendors' database and process music payments/invoices.
● Coordinate music business affairs matters.
● Other duties assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
● 2 Years (min) exp
● Knowledge of the television music licensing business.
● General understanding of music copyrights.
● Familiarity with music cue sheets and PROs.
● Proactive thinker with the ability to multitask and juggle many projects at once.
● Comfortable working in a high-pressure environment.
● Ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
● Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
● Excellent communication skills and able to work effectively within a large team.
● Strong work ethic.
● Desire to achieve perfection.
● Competency working with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
● Interest and knowledge of the music for television, music publishing and record business.
● Minimum 1 year music licensing and/or music contract administration experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
● Paralegal experience; prior entertainment experience preferred.
● Intellectual Property law knowledge/understanding.
● Familiarity with music agreements, from sync & master licenses to composer and producer agreements.
● Experience using AirTable.

Required Education:
4 yr college degree and/or paralegal cert (ABA school pref)
