Position Overview
AmeriTech Contracting, a small but fast-growing government contracting construction company, is seeking a highly organized and creative Personal PR & Communications Manager to support our company’s President. This role will manage the President’s public image, professional communications, and community engagement, ensuring consistent messaging that reflects the President’s leadership and AmeriTech’s brand. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing corporate and personal brand initiatives in a fast-paced, multi-hat small business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Public Relations & Brand Management
- Develop and maintain a positive public image for the President through media engagement, professional networking, and community involvement.
- Draft press releases, feature articles, and talking points for President’s appearances, interviews, and awards.
- Coordinate with marketing to align President’s messaging with AmeriTech’s corporate goals and brand identity.
- Research and secure speaking opportunities, panels, and industry events for the President.
Communications & Content
- Manage President’s social media presence (LinkedIn, company blog, professional platforms) to showcase thought leadership and industry expertise.
- Write and edit speeches, op-eds, and internal communications on behalf of the President.
- Develop and distribute a monthly President update for employees, clients, and stakeholders.
Media & Community Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers.
- Coordinate President participation in charitable events, civic activities, and professional associations.
- Oversee photography, video, and media appearances for President’s branding purposes.
Executive Support (PR-Focused)
- Monitor media mentions and industry news relevant to the President and AmeriTech.
- Prepare briefings for President’s meetings, interviews, and events.
- Assist in crisis communications and reputation management, as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of PR, communications, or executive branding experience (construction or government contracting industry experience preferred).
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for multiple audiences.
- Experience managing social media for executives or brands.
- Comfortable working in a small business setting, wearing multiple hats, and managing both corporate and personal brand initiatives.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
