Land Mobile Radio (LMR) System Technologist

Opportunity:
Support the Government O&M Manager by maintaining, monitoring, repairing, and reporting on the ICE TACCOM networks' readiness and reliability. Program radios to support over 20,000 Law Enforcement Officers for critical voice communications.
Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain P25 simulcast conventional public safety radio systems.
- Monitor site status, address issues, verify documentation, and liaise with end-users.
- Install, repair, evaluate, and assess various radio systems at ICE sites.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment related to land mobile radio systems, including base, mobile, and portable radios.
- Program, troubleshoot, and repair LMR assets such as APX series, Quantar Repeater, Astro-Tac, GTR, GPW, and GCM models.
- Create radio code plugs for mission-critical operations.
- Update CPS software and firmware for radio programming computers.
- Test, tune, and align duplexers, repeaters, and radios.
- Manage encryption keys using Motorola KMF and perform Over-the-Air-Rekeying (OTAR) or manual encryption.
- Analyze circuit wiring, diagrams, and network specifications for installation and troubleshooting.
- Travel as needed to support federal law enforcement communications systems across the US and territories.
Qualifications:
Either an Associate’s Degree with at least 10 years of experience or a High School Diploma with at least 12 years of experience in tactical communications, including integration, testing, programming, troubleshooting, and design. Experience should include:
- Analyzing tower sites, documenting conditions, and recommending repairs.
- Monitoring and documenting circuit parameters like T1, MPLS, leased circuits, and POTS lines.
- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on command & control/dispatch equipment.
- Supporting rapid deployment assets in field operations.
- Providing technical support for emergency/disaster response teams.
Desired: Familiarity with Motorola 7.xx System and Juniper network equipment.

Compensation:
