ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic and motivated general assignment reporter to join our weekend evening team. We are looking for someone who will play an integral role in covering the biggest stories of the day and help take us to the next level on all platforms in one of the most competitive markets in the country. Qualified candidates must be standout storytellers, content creators and collaborators who know how to present active and engaging live shots and be endlessly creative when it comes to adding innovative ideas for their stories on all platforms.You are an exceptional reporter with recent extensive experience as an anchor. Ability to shoot, edit and publish is a plus.
This role is considered on-site, which means the employee will work from a Company designated location on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities:
- Exceptional reporting, writing and interviewing skills
- Collaborate on content and new ideas,handle live breaking news across platforms.
- Active use of social media for promotion and news gathering.
- Fill in for anchors on a variety of shifts
- Participate in community and station public events
Basic Qualifications:
- Multiple market experience.
- Must be a strong journalist and storyteller.
- Know how to present active and engaging live shots.
- Must be comfortable handling live breaking news in the field and studio.
- Must work well under deadline pressure.
- Must have schedule flexibility and ability to work holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive local news anchoring or fill-in anchoring experience.
- Previous local news weather forecasting and weather anchoring experience a plus.
- Bilingual strongly preferred
- Ability to shoot, edit and publish
- Experience with Adobe Premiere and/or Dalet One-Cut
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $120,000 to $145,000 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
