This position is contingent upon a future opening with Gunnison.

Salary: $115,000-$124,000/year

Work Location: Hybrid, occasional on-site in Capitol Hill, DC.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced UX Designer to join our team. This agile development expert will be a key member of our hybrid development team.

Requirements

Candidates must, at a minimum, meet the following criteria to be considered for this position:

  • 5+ years of related experience required.
  • Communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Proven ability to quickly understand stakeholder goals and deeply investigate user needs, behaviors, and pain points through qualitative and quantitative methods;
  • Demonstrated experience conducting user interviews, usability tests, and field studies; synthesizing findings to inform design and product decisions;
  • Track record of leading research planning, execution, and insights delivery across the product development lifecycle;
  • Proficient in human-centered research methodologies, design thinking practices, and agile development environments;
  • Skilled at facilitating research workshops, listening sessions, and cross-functional alignment activities;
  • Experience with persona development, user journey mapping, task analysis, and behavioral user modeling;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate research insights into actionable recommendations for diverse audiences;
  • Familiar with design artifacts (e.g., wireframes, prototypes) to support research activities and contextualize findings;
  • Experience representing the user perspective in common agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Refinements, Daily Standups, Team Retros, and Sprint Demos;
  • Demonstrated capability to communicate research findings to key stakeholders including senior leadership;
  • Familiar with common tools for visual design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical related discipline or High School Diploma/GED with relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of industry and/or public service practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, calm under pressure, excellence in triage prioritization
  • Strong organizational and product management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Clearance Requirement

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
