Interior Designer Job at Tranquility Builders Inc in Naperville

– Objectives of this Role –

Design & Documentation

• Create detailed 3D renderings and buildable construction drawings using Chief Architect

• Develop comprehensive construction sets, including permit drawings, elevations, and build documents

• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of selections and design changes within our construction management system (BuilderTrend)

Material Selections & Client Experience

• Guide homeowners through material selections, confirm finishes, and assist in finalizing approved selections

• Coordinate quantities, manage ordering, and ensure alignment with the project manager

• Lead or support material walkthroughs with clients and ensure clarity and consistency throughout the selection process

Construction Collaboration

• Work directly with Project Managers to maintain alignment on selections, drawings, delivery schedules, and site execution

• Conduct job site walkthroughs with PMs and/or homeowners

• Ensure updated construction drawing sets are accessible on-site and that designs reflect signed client decisions and change orders

Project Preparation & Oversight

• Execute internal design preparation checklists and manage design timelines, meetings, and budget tracking

• Gather and compare vendor quotes for finish materials, manage budget adherence, and generate change orders when needed

• Support permit documentation, field measures, and client meetings as required

Team Contribution

• Collaborate with the internal team to continuously refine design and construction workflows

• Assist with internal paperwork entry, project scheduling, and BuilderTrend data entry

• Participate in client onboarding and early design concept development when needed

– Candidate Personality / Trait Preferences –

• Passionate about luxury design, construction, and client experience

• Degree in Interior Design or related field

• Experience with Chief Architect (or motivated to learn quickly)

• Proficient in Google Drive, Microsoft Excel, and construction-related software (BuilderTrend a plus)

• Strong communication skills – able to present ideas clearly to clients and team members

• Self-motivated, go-getter with a positive, proactive attitude

• Excellent time management and organizational skills
