Position Summary
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising and Communication Specialist is a high-energy, dynamic multi-tasker responsible for developing and maintaining a vibrant and strategic community engagement program. This role serves as a key liaison between Forestdale and its partners, donors, government entities, and the broader community. This position works closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to drive visibility, engagement, and support for Forestdale's mission.
Event Strategy & Execution Lead strategy, planning, and execution of all fundraising and donor stewardship events, including the annual Benefit, alumni gatherings, and donor appreciation events. Develop and manage event timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, and logistics. Create and implement marketing materials and campaigns to promote events across multiple platforms. Recruit and lead event planning committees composed of trustees, donors, and prospects. Ensure events are mission-aligned, well-branded, and optimized for revenue and engagement. Track and evaluate event ROI, attendee experience, and fundraising outcomes. Supervise one full-time events staff member and coordinate cross-functional teams. Fundraising & Donor Engagement
Develop and execute annual fundraising plans across individual, corporate, and foundation giving. Lead donor cultivation, stewardship, and campaign execution. Write compelling appeals, donor communications, and impact reports. Support board and leadership in donor outreach and relationship-building. Manage a portfolio of donors using moves management strategies. Cultivate and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Secure sponsorships, journal ads, and auction items. Collaborate with internal teams to align fundraising efforts. Prepare briefing materials for leadership and board members. Plan and execute direct email appeals and donor communications. Donor Database Management
Oversee donor database (Network for Good), ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Maintain segmented mailing lists and generate reports on fundraising performance. Provide training and support to internal users. Marketing & Outreach
Design and produce promotional materials (graphics, video, brochures, posters) to support Forestdale's programs and campaigns. Manage relationships with external vendors for printed and digital materials. Manage content for social media, email marketing (Constant Contact), and website. Provide photography/videography for events and maintain media library with proper client photo releases. Monitor online presence to maintain a positive digital presence and respond to reviews. Pitch stories to media and draft press releases and op-eds. Lead community campaigns (e.g., back pack and coat drives). Graphic design or video editing skills a plus. Passion for mission-driven work and community impact. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field. 5 years of experience in fundraising, communications, or marketing (nonprofit preferred). Proven success in event planning, donor engagement, and campaign execution. Strong writing, storytelling, and visual communication skills. Proficiency in donor databases (e.g., Network for Good), Constant Contact, Canva, and social media platforms. Experience managing events and donor engagement strategies. Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail. Commitment to Forestdale's mission and values. Graphic design or video editing skills a plus. Salary:
$75,000 - $90,000
