Role Summary:
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and loyalty. Overseeing all aspects of marketing, including branding, digital marketing, market research analysis and public relations efforts within the local and national cannabis industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight: Create and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals fostering creative and collaborative initiatives that support sales and operational campaigns.
Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective marketing strategies for brand recognition, customer acquisition, website traffic, communications, product placement, promotional campaigns, and competitor positioning.
Brand Management: Set up and enhance brand identity across all marketing channels and customer touchpoints.
Campaign Management: Plan and execute marketing campaigns that engage target audiences and drive sales.
Digital Marketing: Manage digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media marketing.
Public Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, networking channels and industry partners to generate positive media coverage and brand exposure.
Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive insights.
SOP Management: Develop, write, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all marketing-related activities.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all CRC NJ state and federal regulations and standards related to cannabis marketing and allowable advertising campaigns.
Cross-Departmental Coordination: Work closely with sales, operations, and finance departments to ensure that marketing strategies align with the overall company business objectives.
Budget and Resource Management: Efficiently develop and manage the allocation of supplies, equipment, staffing, and promotional resources.
Safety and Quality Standards: Implement and maintain safety protocols, industry best practices, and quality standards within the marketing department.
Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor, evaluate, and improve the operations and output of the marketing department.
Reporting and Communication: Provide regular and comprehensive reports on marketing activities, challenges, and progress to the COO.
Industry Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices to continually enhance marketing efficiency, effectiveness, and results.
Qualifications:
Extensive leadership experience in marketing management, preferably within the cannabis industry or a similar field.
Proven experience (5+ years) in marketing management or bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or related field (master's degree preferred).
Deep understanding of market penetration, market development, product development, diversification, allowable paid advertising, cause marketing, relationship marketing, and internet marketing strategies.
Proven ability to effectively lead, manage, and motivate a team.
Strong organizational, communication, networking, campaign optimization and interpersonal skills.
Experience in brand development; strategic planning and execution; business development and partnership building; consumer use forecasting trends analysis and campaign optimization.
