SERVICE WRITER
Monday - Friday
8:00 am - 5:00 pm

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Serve as the primary contact for all service customers; ensure work orders are entered, scheduled, and completed accurately and efficiently.
- Present a professional, positive attitude and provide excellent customer service.
- Process and manage work orders and warranty claims from start to finish.
- Review work orders for accuracy, determine requirements, set priorities, and ensure proper documentation.
- Assign and stage service work for technicians to help them achieve daily and weekly goals.
- Maintain quality control of completed work; monitor time standards and address variances.
- Provide general diagnosis of repair and maintenance problems and communicate findings to technicians.
- Track, coordinate, and complete warranty work.
- Conduct customer survey follow-ups and report findings monthly.
- Prepare technician status reports, time/activity logs, and basic departmental reports.
- Attend weekly management meetings to review goals, promotions, and service opportunities.
- Keep service reference materials (manuals, bulletins, publications) updated.
- Monitor and evaluate tools and equipment for proper working condition.
- Participate in quarterly and annual meetings to review results, set goals, and implement process improvements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years’ experience in repair, troubleshooting, or parts with proven success.
- Preferred industries: agricultural equipment, motor vehicle, outdoor power equipment, recreational vehicles, construction machinery, or small engines.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to work a standard 40-hour week with flexibility for extended hours when needed.
- Physically able to lift and handle loads up to 70 lbs.; work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Proficient in parts lookup and assisting customers at the parts counter.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with computers and basic reporting.
