WTTG/WDCA – Director of News and Content (Regular Full-Time)

- Cultivate a Winning Team: Lead, mentor, and inspire our team of news professionals. Your passion for talent development will be key as you handle recruiting, training, performance evaluations, and oversight to foster a high-performing, collaborative culture.
- Forge Powerful Relationships: Partner with the VP of News/Content to develop and execute strategies that fuel audience growth. You will serve as our primary liaison with Fox News Channel and other Fox entities.
- Maintain Operational Excellence: Work closely with our legal team on any news coverage issues and coordinate with helicopter partners to ensure seamless, top-tier reporting.
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in a large television market, with a clear track record of success and progressive responsibility. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a newsroom/media environment.
- Seasoned Leader: Demonstrated success in a senior newsroom leadership role, with the ability to manage and inspire large teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- Creative Visionary: You possess a history of creating compelling, innovative content and show formats that deeply resonate with a wide audience.
- Multi-Platform Expert: You have a profound understanding of how to produce and distribute news for television, social media, and all digital platforms.
- Master of Adaptability: You are a composed professional who thrives in high-pressure, fast-paced news environments.

FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 operation. This high-impact role requires flexibility to work varied hours including overtime, early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, and in the case of breaking news. Must be able to travel as needed and hold a clean motor vehicle record.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $150,000.00-220,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
