The Intermediate Designer / Job Captain at Barcelon Jang Architecture is experienced in a fast-paced environment, working on a variety of projects and collaborating well with architects and supervising designers.
The primary responsibilities include supporting Project Architects in developing project documents throughout bidding, design, and construction phases. This involves contributing to the design and construction schedule, overseeing drawings and specifications to ensure program, code, and agency compliance, managing schedule commitments, conducting product research, organizing and directing the architectural team, and supporting the successful completion of each project.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or construction science/construction management, preferably in the U.S.
- Experience with personnel supervision, construction document preparation, and construction administration.
- 3-7 years of professional experience in an architectural firm working on medium-sized projects.
- Experience in preparing presentation and construction drawings.
- Experience working directly with and reporting to a Project Architect.
- Experience supervising or managing design staff at an architectural office.
- Ability to coordinate with clients, developers, and consultants such as engineers.
- Knowledge of local ordinances, building codes, and ADA requirements.
- Strong interest in affordable housing and modernization projects.
- Experience with sustainable design is desirable.
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; knowledge of SketchUp, Photoshop, and InDesign is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.
This is an exempt position, which may be full- or part-time. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and capabilities.
