Customs Entry Writer

Position Title: Customs Entry Writer
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Work Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (subject to change)
Work Location: Onsite
Pay: $25 to $31 an hour.

Position Overview
We are seeking one Senior-level and one Staff-level Customs Entry Writer to support day-to-day customs brokerage operations. These roles require experience in handling entry documentation, regulatory compliance, and customer coordination within international freight and customs environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Process customs entry documents and filings, including ISF and Customs Entry, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update importer and customer profiles
  • Calculate duties and taxes; process payments on clients' behalf
  • Handle accounting-related tasks such as issuing invoices and processing payment requisitions
  • Provide timely updates and professional communication to clients and internal teams
  • Report and suggest resolutions for entry discrepancies or customer complaints
  • Review and distribute documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and PGAs (Participating Government Agencies)
  • Liaise with Customs and other regulatory agencies as needed
  • Adhere to compliance standards and meet productivity goals
  • Support colleagues with account management and daily operations
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of client-specific SOPs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Staff Level: 3+ years of customs entry writing experience
  • Senior Level: 5+ years of customs entry writing experience
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, international transportation, or customs-related fields
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to recognize when escalation is necessary for issue resolution
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs and other government agency compliance requirements
