Summary

About the position: This position will be assigned to the Marketing Office located on Peterson Space Force Base.

Successful completion and favorable adjudication of a Tier 1 background investigation is required. Must possess a valid driver's license. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works under the direction of the Marketing Director to plan, produce, and manage content for the 21st Force Support Squadron, including social media, photo/video, graphics, website updates, digital communications, and online business listings.
  • Assists with the creation of marketing collateral while ensuring all content is accurate, timely, aligned with the squadron's overall marketing strategy, and optimized for search visibility and discoverability.
  • Regularly reviews and updates content across platforms, including adding, revising, or removing information as needed, based on input from the Marketing Office or approved leadership.
  • Uses strong writing and editing skills to develop communications across multiple platforms, including social media, email campaigns, video scripts, and other materials.
  • Designs and develops multimedia such as photo, video, graphics, animation, and layouts that align with overall marketing strategy, and may assist in hosting live streams.
  • Assists co-workers with marketing projects and tasks as needed to support the overall mission of the department.
  • Contributes to the distribution of content across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging channels.
  • Assists with digital communications such as email and text campaigns under the direction of the Marketing Director.
  • Ensures all content complies with Air Force, DoD, and copyright regulations, as well as brand and security guidelines established by governing agencies.
  • Build community engagement and brand awareness, driving participation in FSS events, activities, and services, while supporting overall mission objectives
  • Supports the marketing department in data collection and analysis, including surveys and other feedback methods.
  • Supports event coverage (day/evening/weekend/holiday), including photography and videography, to ensure activities are accurately represented and shared with the community.
  • Supports collateral updates in FSS facilities to ensure marketing materials remain current.
  • May also assist with or present at briefings and events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of the marketing office and squadron.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

Degree with emphasis in marketing, communication, digital media, design, or related field is highly desired. Progressive or educational experience in social and digital media, online brand marketing, or community engagement in a professional capacity is also desired. Demonstrable experience with online monitoring and measurement platforms, social analytics tools, and an understanding of existing and emerging digital platforms, social media trends, and engagement strategies is required. Familiarity with search visibility best practices, including management of online business listings (e.g., Google Business Profiles), is preferred. Education above the high school level in a related field may be substituted for progressive and demonstrable experience. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent industry-standard design and editing software), project management software (e.g., Wrike, Asana, or similar), Content Management Systems such as WordPress, and Microsoft Office applications is required. Experience with photography and video production is strongly preferred. Basic familiarity with HTML is helpful but not required. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Condition(s) of Employment: Successful completion and favorable adjudication of a Tier 1 background investigation is required. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug test. This is a drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
