St. Charles Community College, located just west of St. Louis in St. Charles County, is committed to student success and diversity. We are seeking a Grant Writer/Specialist to support our Workforce and Community Education Department.

Position Summary

The Grant Writer/Specialist will assist with research, preparation, and submission of grants aligned with SCC's strategic goals. Responsibilities include coordinating grant proposals and reports, ensuring compliance with funding guidelines, and supporting fiscal and operational staff. The role requires strong writing, data analysis, budgeting, and project management skills, with an emphasis on clear communication and outcome measurement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with grant proposal development and submission, including drafting proposals, letters of intent, narratives, and budgets.
• Gather and organize information on project objectives, outcomes, methods, staffing, and budgets.
• Write, revise, and edit drafts, including summaries, graphics, and credentials.
• Maintain quality standards using templates and proposal-writing best practices.
• Coordinate submission of grant applications.
• Research funding opportunities and fulfill site visit requirements.
• Maintain grant calendars, files, and support documents.
• Ensure grant compliance and assist with reporting, including outcome measurement and budget management.
• Support fiscal and operational staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with one to two years of related experience or equivalent. Knowledge of funding sources, grant application processes, and strong communication skills are required. Ability to work independently and manage details is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Three to five years of grant writing experience is preferred.
